Approach and runway coverage

Stuart Powell Field’s three approaches serve two runway ends, providing instrument procedures in both directions rather than concentrating coverage on a single end. Two use RNAV (GPS), while the localiser procedure adds a second approach type. The 5,000-ft runway 13/31 is more than twice the length of runway 01/19, making the shorter alignment relevant to a narrower range of aircraft and operations.

Regional chart context

Lake Cumberland Regional has the same overall number of published charts, while Central Kentucky Regional is similarly covered. Blue Grass has a distinctly broader procedure set; Lebanon Springfield/George Hoerter Field and Taylor County are slightly thinner. The Cincinnati and St Louis sectional charts add wider VFR context beyond the airport-specific instrument procedures.
