Instrument procedure shape

At Eagle County Regional, the published instrument approaches are concentrated on one runway end. Four RNAV (GPS) procedures provide several arrival options to that end, but no equivalent approach coverage is published for the opposite direction. The 9,000 ft runway offers considerable usable distance, though all conventional runway operations share the same 07/25 alignment.

Regional chart coverage

Nearby procedure coverage varies sharply. Aspen-Pitkin County/Sardy Field and Rifle Garfield County have chart sets of comparable breadth, while Mc Elroy Airfield, Lake County and Meeker Coulter Field each have much thinner sets. The Denver Sectional adds broader visual context around Eagle beyond the arrival, departure and approach paths depicted by the terminal procedures.

Common questions about KEGE

What charts are available for KEGE?

14 current FAA charts for Eagle County Rgnl, including 5 instrument approachs, 3 departure procedures, 2 arrival procedures, 1 airport diagram. All are free to download as PDFs from this page, from the 6 August 2026 cycle.

What are the radio frequencies for KEGE?

Ground 121.8; ATIS 135.575; CTAF 119.8; Clearance delivery 124.75. Full civil VHF list, with sector notes, is in the frequencies table on this page — from the FAA NASR subscription.

How long is the runway at KEGE?

Eagle County Rgnl has 2 runways. The longest is 07/25 at 9,000 ft by 150 ft, asphalt. Full runway dimensions, lighting and approach aids are listed on this page.

Does KEGE have an ILS approach?

No ILS is published. In total KEGE has 5 published instrument approaches, of which 4 are RNAV (GPS).

Where can I download the KEGE airport diagram?

The official FAA airport diagram for Eagle County Rgnl is free to download at the top of this page. It shows runways, taxiways, ramp layout and hold-short positions, and is reissued every 28 days.

Which runway do instrument approaches serve at KEGE?

Every published approach serves one runway end. There is no instrument procedure to the reciprocal direction, so an arrival in instrument conditions commits to that single approach direction regardless of the wind.

How high is KEGE?

The field elevation is 6,547 ft. At that height the air is thin enough to matter: take-off and landing distances are longer than the same aircraft would need at sea level, and the effect worsens as temperature rises. The approach charts carry the altitudes that apply.

Is KEGE a towered airport?

Yes. Eagle County Rgnl has an operating control tower, within Denver Center's airspace. Tower, ground and clearance frequencies are listed on this page.

Are these KEGE charts current?

They are from the FAA cycle effective 6 August 2026, which is superseded on 3 September 2026. We publish each new cycle on its effective date. They are for flight simulation and reference only — not for real-world navigation.
