Approach coverage at Emporia

Emporia Municipal’s compact instrument set serves two runway ends with three approaches. Two RNAV (GPS) procedures form the majority, while a VOR procedure provides the sole conventional alternative. Coverage in both directions is useful, but the limited number of procedures leaves fewer published instrument options than at Topeka Regional. No airport diagram is published.

Runways and nearby chart coverage

The 5,005 ft asphalt-concrete runway is the longer of two intersecting strips; the 3,881 ft turf runway adds another alignment but substantially less available length. Coffey County and Herington Regional match Emporia’s four-chart coverage, while El Dorado has a slightly broader set and LT William M Milliken a thinner one. The Kansas City Sectional adds the surrounding visual-navigation context absent from the terminal procedures.
