Selective instrument coverage

Ottawa Municipal has one RNAV (GPS) approach for each of two runway ends, with no other approach type represented. As the two runways provide four ends in total, instrument coverage is limited to half of them rather than extending across every arrival direction.

Runways and surrounding coverage

The concrete runway is nearly three times the length of the turf runway, so the latter provides another alignment but not comparable available length. Nearby, New Century AirCenter and Johnson County Executive have substantially broader chart sets; Coffey County is comparable with Ottawa, Miami County is slightly thinner, and Lawrence Regional sits between them. The Kansas City Sectional adds broader visual and regional context beyond the airport’s instrument procedures.
