Approach and runway coverage

Fort Dodge Regional’s approach coverage extends to all four ends of its two crossing runways. Five approach charts combine RNAV (GPS) coverage with ILS and localiser options, rather than concentrating procedures on a single alignment. Runway 06/24 is 1,246 ft longer than 12/30, giving the field one substantially longer axis while retaining a second paved alignment.

Local chart context

The nearby airports have much thinner published chart sets: Webster City, Clarion and Algona each have four charts, while Eagle Grove and Pocahontas have three. None approaches the breadth of Fort Dodge’s terminal coverage. The Omaha Sectional adds the wider VFR context around Fort Dodge that the airport diagram and instrument procedures do not provide.
