Pocahontas Municipal’s two RNAV (GPS) approaches serve two runway ends, so the instrument coverage is not concentrated on a single arrival direction. There are no other approach types and no published airport diagram, making this a compact procedure set centred on GPS arrivals.
The 4,100 ft asphalt runway provides substantially more usable length than the crossing 1,999 ft turf runway; the latter adds another alignment but is not an equivalent substitute in either length or surface. Fort Dodge Regional has a markedly broader chart set, while Emmetsburg, Algona, Sac City and Storm Lake remain close to Pocahontas with three or four charts each. The Omaha Sectional adds the wider visual context around Pocahontas that the terminal procedures do not show.
