Central Nebraska Regional’s procedures serve all four ends of its two-runway layout. The mix of ILS, localiser, RNAV (GPS) and VOR approaches means instrument coverage is not concentrated on one alignment or one form of guidance. Runways 13/31 and 17/35 both exceed 6,600 ft and differ in length by only 394 ft, so changing alignment does not bring a major reduction in available runway length.
None of the listed nearby fields has comparably broad chart coverage. Hastings Municipal has the largest neighbouring set with five charts; the others have three or four each. The Omaha Sectional supplies wider VFR context around Grand Island beyond the airport-specific diagram and instrument procedures.
