Concentrated instrument coverage

Idaho Falls Regional has eight approach plates, but they serve only two of its four runway ends. The mix of ILS, localiser, RNAV (GPS) and VOR procedures gives those ends several forms of instrument guidance rather than spreading coverage across both runway alignments. The 9,002 ft runway is more than twice the length of the 3,964 ft cross-runway, making 03/21 the practical focus for aircraft requiring substantially more runway.

Regional chart context

Among the listed nearby fields, Pocatello Regional has the broadest procedure set, though still appreciably thinner than Idaho Falls. McCarley Field and Driggs/Reed Memorial have smaller collections, while Rexburg-Madison County and Arco-Butte County are thinner again. The Salt Lake City Sectional adds wider visual-navigation context beyond the airport-specific instrument procedures.
