Approach coverage and runway use

Jefferson City Memorial’s three approach plates concentrate instrument access on two of the airport’s four runway ends. They encompass an ILS, localiser guidance and two RNAV (GPS) procedures, giving one served end precision guidance while leaving half the available ends without a published approach. For runway-length planning, 12/30 provides 2,599 ft more than 09/27; any requirement above 3,401 ft therefore rules out the shorter runway.

Coverage around JEF

Columbia Regional has more than twice JEF’s chart coverage, while Rolla National matches its six-chart total. Elton Hensley Memorial, Jesse Viertel Memorial and Eldon Model Airpark all have thinner published sets. The Kansas City and St Louis sectionals complement the terminal procedures with wider-area VFR context beyond the airport diagram and approach plates.
