Approaches across four runway ends

Coles County Memorial’s five approach plates serve four runway ends, so instrument coverage is not concentrated on a single alignment. GPS procedures make up most of the set, while ILS and localiser capability add ground-based guidance. The two paved runways provide 5,799 ft and 6,501 ft; by contrast, the 1,098 ft turf runway is a short third alignment, leaving the paved pair as the realistic focus for larger aircraft.

Coverage around Mattoon/Charleston

University of Illinois/Willard has broader procedure coverage, while Edgar County is the closest comparison in chart-set depth. Effingham County Regional is somewhat thinner, with Casey Municipal and Shelby County thinner again. The St Louis Sectional adds wider VFR planning context beyond the airport-specific terminal procedures.
