Oceana NAS combines 13 instrument approach plates with only three departure procedures, so the published set is weighted towards arrival coverage. Five RNAV (GPS) approaches form part of that coverage. Approaches serve five of the eight runway ends, leaving three without a published instrument approach this cycle. The four-runway layout provides paired runways on two alignments; three are about 8,000 ft long, while 05R/23L extends to 12,001 ft, giving that strip substantially more length.
Norfolk International and Norfolk NS (Chambers Field), with 18 and 15 charts respectively, come closest to Oceana’s breadth of coverage. Norfolk NS is much thinner at seven, while Chesapeake Regional and Hampton Roads Executive each have eight. The Washington Sectional adds broader VFR and geographical context beyond the airport diagram and terminal procedures.
