Norfolk International’s sole 9,001 ft runway has published instrument coverage at both ends. The mix of ILS, RNAV (GPS) and localiser procedures means the chart set is not dependent on a single approach method, while every instrument arrival is organised around the same 05/23 alignment. Five departure charts against seven approach charts also give departures substantial coverage rather than leaving the set weighted chiefly towards arrivals.
Among nearby fields, Oceana NAS has broader chart coverage, while Norfolk NS (Chambers Field) and Langley AFB are closest in scale to ORF. Norfolk NS and Hampton Roads Executive have markedly thinner sets. The Washington Sectional adds the wider VFR context around Norfolk that the airport diagram and terminal procedures do not provide.
