Suffolk Executive’s three approaches serve two of its four runway ends, leaving the other two without a published instrument approach. The mix of two RNAV (GPS) procedures and one localiser procedure provides both satellite-based and localiser-based coverage rather than relying on a single approach type. The 1,257 ft difference between the two runways makes 04/22 the more accommodating alignment where runway length is the limiting dimension.
Hampton Roads Executive and Chesapeake Regional have chart sets equal in size to Suffolk’s, while Norfolk NS (Chambers Field) has substantially broader coverage. Franklin Regional’s set is notably thinner, and Norfolk NS is slightly thinner. The Washington Sectional adds the broader visual planning context that the terminal procedures do not provide.
