Ottumwa Regional’s five approach plates serve all four ends of its two runways, giving instrument procedures for either alignment rather than concentrating coverage on one strip. The mix of four RNAV procedures with ILS and localiser options adds both satellite-based coverage and a precision approach. Runway 13/31 provides 1,400 ft more length than 04/22; any runway-length requirement above 4,601 ft therefore confines use to the longer alignment.
Nearby procedure coverage is markedly thinner. Oskaloosa Municipal has the broadest neighbouring set with four charts, matched by Fairfield and Pella, while Bloomfield has only two. None approaches Ottumwa’s eight-chart coverage. The Chicago Sectional adds the broader visual-navigation context absent from the airport diagram and terminal procedures.
