Miami County’s compact instrument set is balanced between two runway ends: each of its two approaches is RNAV (GPS), so coverage is not concentrated in a single landing direction. The 3,398 ft asphalt runway offers substantially more length than the 1,940 ft turf runway; the shorter strip adds another alignment but cannot accommodate an aircraft requiring more than 1,940 ft.
New Century AirCenter and Johnson County Executive have much broader procedure collections. Ottawa Municipal and Lawrence Smith Memorial are closer to Miami County’s limited coverage, while Butler Memorial has the same chart count. The Kansas City Sectional supplies the wider VFR geographic context that the airport’s approach and minimums sheets do not provide.
