Approach coverage

Pierre Regional’s procedure set serves all four ends of its two runways. The mix includes an ILS and localiser coverage alongside RNAV (GPS) and VOR procedures, providing both precision and non-precision approach types rather than concentrating the published coverage on a single alignment. The two runways differ in length by only 20 ft, so neither is a markedly shorter secondary strip.

Wider chart context

Every listed nearby airport has the same, much thinner three-chart set; none approaches Pierre Regional’s breadth of terminal coverage. The Billings, Omaha and Twin Cities sectional charts add wider-area VFR context beyond the airport diagram and instrument procedures.
