Pipestone Municipal’s instrument set is narrowly focused: two RNAV (GPS) approaches serve two of the airport’s four runway ends. The other two ends have no published approach, and there is no airport diagram. Both nearby fields at Luverne and Slayton have chart sets of the same size, while Brookings has slightly broader coverage and Joe Foss Field’s 17-chart set is substantially broader. Rock Rapids has the thinnest nearby set, with three charts.
The 4,306-foot asphalt 18/36 is 1,784 feet longer than the turf 09/27, making the two alignments distinctly different in available length and surface. The Omaha Sectional supplies the wider visual and geographic context absent from Pipestone’s small procedure set.
