Approach coverage

New River Valley’s approach coverage reaches both ends of its sole runway rather than concentrating instrument procedures on one direction. The set combines ILS/localiser procedures with RNAV (GPS), giving the 06/24 alignment both ground-based and satellite-based approach types. All procedures therefore relate to one 6,201 ft strip, and no separate airport diagram is published.

Surrounding chart coverage

Virginia Tech/Montgomery Executive and Mercer County have chart sets comparable in size to New River Valley’s, while Twin County and Mountain Empire have thinner coverage. Roanoke/Blacksburg Regional has a markedly broader procedure set than any of these nearby fields. The Cincinnati Sectional adds the wider visual-navigation and route-planning context around Dublin that the terminal procedures do not provide.
