South Bend’s procedure set reaches all six runway ends, so instrument coverage is not confined to the longest runway or a single direction. RNAV (GPS) forms the majority, while three ILS and two localiser approaches add ground-based guidance across the layout. The runway lengths are notably uneven: any operation requiring more than 4,300 ft has only the two longer runways available by length. The airport diagram brings the three-runway ground layout together in one reference.
Elkhart Municipal’s eight-chart set is the closest nearby field in procedure volume. The other listed airports have only three or four charts each, making their published coverage much thinner. The Chicago Sectional adds wider visual-navigation context around South Bend that the airport-specific instrument procedures do not provide.
