Jerry Tyler Meml’s instrument coverage is narrowly focused: two RNAV (GPS) approaches serve two of the airport’s four runway ends. Half the runway ends therefore have no published approach, and there is no airport diagram. The two runway alignments also provide notably different lengths; 15/33 offers 784 ft more than 04/22, making the chosen alignment significant for available runway distance.
South Bend International has the broadest nearby procedure set, with Elkhart Municipal also carrying substantially more coverage. Andrews University Airpark and Dowagiac Municipal match 3TR’s thin chart set, while Southwest Michigan Regional falls between these groups. The Chicago Sectional supplies broader VFR context around Niles that the terminal procedures do not provide.
