Abraham Lincoln Capital’s procedures serve all four ends of runways 04/22 and 13/31, rather than concentrating instrument access on one alignment. The mix of ILS, localiser, RNAV (GPS) and VOR procedures provides both ground-based and satellite-based approach coverage. At 8,001 ft and 7,399 ft, the two runways differ by only 602 ft in published length, so changing alignment does not mean moving to a markedly shorter runway.
