Shaw AFB’s eight approach charts are divided evenly between ILS and localiser procedures, but they serve only two of the four runway ends. Instrument coverage is therefore concentrated on half of the available runway directions rather than spread across both ends of both parallel runways.
The 10,014 ft and 8,014 ft concrete runways provide two parallel strips of substantial but unequal length; any requirement exceeding 8,014 ft would leave only 04L/22R within the published dimensions. Nearby procedure coverage is thinner throughout. KMMT has the broadest neighbouring set with seven charts, while KSMS and KCDN each have five; KCUB and KMNI have still fewer. The Charlotte Sectional supplies the broader VFR setting around Sumter that the airport-specific terminal procedures do not show.
