Procedure coverage at Sterling

Sterling Municipal’s instrument coverage consists of two RNAV (GPS) approaches serving two runway ends. This gives arrivals procedure coverage in both directions on a single alignment, rather than across all four ends. The runway configuration also presents a clear distinction: the 5,201 ft asphalt runway provides substantially more length than the 2,809 ft turf-gravel runway, so the selected alignment changes both available distance and surface.

Surrounding chart coverage

Sidney Municipal/Lloyd W Carr Field has the broadest nearby chart set, followed by Colorado Plains Regional. Fort Morgan Municipal and Kimball Municipal/Robert E Arraj Field match Sterling’s four-chart total, while Yuma Municipal has the thinnest set. The Cheyenne Sectional adds the wider VFR setting around Sterling that the airport-specific instrument procedures do not show.
