Thief River Falls Regional has published approaches to all four runway ends, so neither of its two alignments is omitted from the instrument procedure set. The mix includes RNAV (GPS), VOR, ILS and localiser coverage, combining satellite-based procedures with conventional and precision options. Runway 13/31 is 1,507 ft longer than 04/22, making available runway length notably different between the two alignments.
Grand Forks International has the broadest nearby procedure set, while Crookston and Fosston have much thinner coverage; Warren and Fertile are thinner still. The Twin Cities Sectional adds the wider VFR context around Thief River Falls that the airport diagram and terminal procedures do not provide.
