North Big Horn County has a single RNAV (GPS) approach serving just one of its four runway ends. Instrument procedure coverage is therefore concentrated on one arrival direction, with no published approach to the opposite end or either end of the shorter cross-runway. The 5,200 ft asphalt runway provides almost three times the available length of the 1,866 ft dirt runway, making the difference between the two alignments substantial.
Powell Municipal has similarly thin procedure coverage, while South Big Horn County, Laurel Municipal and Yellowstone Regional have progressively broader chart sets. Billings Logan International is covered much more extensively than any of the other listed fields. The Billings and Great Falls sectional charts add visual-navigation context across the area that the airport’s sparse instrument set does not provide.
