North Las Vegas ILS. Adds the ILS approach to runway 12L at North Las Vegas Airport (KVGT), Nevada (NV). By Ken Stallings.

This file will add the ILS approach to runway 12L at North Las Vegas Airport (KVGT). It uses the actual ILS technical data to achieve an accurate result. The zip file was constructed to follow the proper file path needed: Microsoft Flight Simulator X/Scenery/World/Scenery/AF2_KVGT.bgl. Therefore, to install it, you need only unzip the file to your master FS-X folder. Of course, you can also install to a temporary folder and manually copy and paste the file as you desire.

Here is the technical data for the approach:

Magnetic bearing: 120
True bearing: 134
Magnetic variation: 14E

Localizer data: ILS/DME
Frequency: 110.70 MHz
Course width: 6.00 degrees

Glideslope data: Standard glideslope
Glideslope angle: 3.2 degrees
Runway elevation at GS: 2181.00 feet MSL

DME channel: 044X (tune to 110.70 MHz)

This is the same approach plate used by most civilian pilots and all military pilots. It is the version published by the FAA.

This is released as freeware. Cheers,

Ken Stallings

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D add-on
  1. Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
  2. Place files per the readme

Most FSX add-ons go into one of: SimObjects\Airplanes\, Addon Scenery\, Effects\, or Gauges\.
  3. Always read the included readme

Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
