AFX Files for Canadian Airports. AFX files for 15 Canadian airports. By Dave Reage.

Thanks for downloading my efforts at creating AFX files for default scenery Canadian Airports in FSX. These files were created using Airport Facilitator X, a program that I highly recommend if you're interested in editing these files. I created these files based on my own experiences travelling to these airports (in some cases), satellite imagery, information from the airport's websites, as well as information contained on the appropriate airport charts. The end result is a set of AFX files that I believe capture fairly accurate gate placement, as well as airline assignment to those gates. But having said that, I'm sure there's still room for improvement. It should be noted that sometimes the gate placement is more accurate tha the FSX default buildings, so sometimes there will be gates where there is no terminal building.

Airport included are:

  • CYBG - CFB Bagotville, QC.
  • CYEG - Edmonton Int'l, AB.
  • CYFB - Iqaluit, NU.
  • CYFC - Fredericton, NB.
  • CYHZ - Halifax Stanfield Int'l, NS.
  • CYOD - CFB Cold Lake, AB.
  • CYOW - Ottawa McDOnald-Cartier Int'l, ON.
  • CYQB - Quebec Jean-Lesage Int'l, QC.
  • CYQM - Greater Moncton, NB.
  • CYQY - Sydney, NS.
  • CYTR - CFB Trenton, ON.
  • CYUL - Montreal Trudeau Int'l, QC.
  • CYYT - St. John's Int'l, NL.
  • CYYZ - Toronto Pearson Int'l, ON.
  • CYZX - CFB Greenwood, NS.

Since I typically just create these AFCAD's whenever I decide to fly into the given airport, I must admit I haven't done a real thorough test of all of these, but I have flown into each of them several times at least, and they seem to work for me. Having said that, if you have any bugs to report, please do so at the e-mail address listed below.

Also, if you have any suggestions, or any little details that I've missed at your local airport, please let me know and I will endeavor to fix it.

I am currently using FSX SP2 and Acceleration, but the files should work on earlier FSX setups I believe. I don't think the files will work with FS9 or earlier.

  1. Copy all files to your Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Addon Scenery\scenery\ folder.

I am in no way liable for any harm these files may cause you or your computer.

Thanks, and enjoy!
