George Bush Intercontinental Airport, Texas (TX), USA. This airport was designed with the latest version of ADE (Airport Design Editor) and made only for the FSX default airport: one file with the crosswind runways operating where all five runways will be used for takeoff/landing and one file as the default runway operation. Assigned parking with extra parking and a gate for the A380, extra fuel trucks, support vehicle roads rebuilt and many other improvements, airport views are from inside the control tower (when in tower view). By Ray Smith.

There are 4 BGL files: KIAH_ADE_RS.BGL, KIAH_ADE_CW_RS.BGL, KIAH_ADE_CVX.BGL and a KIAH_ADE_OBJ.BGL file.

The KIAH_ADE_RS.BGL file is the same as the default runway operation.
The KIAH_ADE_CW_RS.BGL file is with the Crosswind runways activated and in full operation.
Assigned parking is the same in both files.
The KIAH_ADE_CVX.bgl file removes the stray autogen around the fuel tank farm.
The KIAH_ADE_OBJ.BGL file is the scenery objects file, Please make sure this file goes into the correct folder.

To Install:

  1. Take the KIAH_RS.BGL file of your choice and the KIAH_ADE_CVX.BGL file and place both files into: Flight Simulator X/Addon Scenery/scenery folder.
  2. Take the KIAH_ADE_OBJ.BGL file and place it into: Flight Simulator X/Scenery/Global/scenery folder.
  3. Start up the Flight Sim and the changes will be present.
  • ADDITIONAL: There are flood lights in the cargo areas, and to see these you need to add the textures for them (this is not mandatory as they are only scenery objects) if you would like to add them please follow these steps:
  1. 'Browse' to the FSX\Scenery\ASIA\Texture folder. Go down the list until you see NAR_jetway.dds (day texture) and NAR_jetway_LM.dds (night texture).
  2. "COPY" them from that folder and "PASTE" them into the Scenery\Global\Texture folder.

  • NOTE: PLEASE ONLY USE ONE RS.BGL FILE AT A TIME. I.E. Make sure there is only 'ONE' of the 'KIAH_RS.BGL' Files and the KIAH_ADE_CVX.BGL in the Addon Scenery/scenery folder at any time, remove/delete any other KIAH.bgl to avoid incorrect parking.
  • If you have any AI Traffic Addons please make sure they have "NOT" installed another Afcad for this airport as this will also cause an airport conflict.
  • NOTE: When using ATIS with the KIAH_ADE_CW_RS.BGL file you will hear the fake runways as well as the airport runways, this is the method used in activating non parallel runways and should be ignored or if preferred use the version KIAH_ADE_RS.BGL

To Uninstall:

  1. Delete/remove the BGL files and the default airport will then be active.

TIP: When at KIAH in tower view, go to your control settings and look for the "View track/pan Toggle" allocate a keyboard key stroke to it (I allocated a button on my controller) this will unlock the user aircraft, then you can use the hat switch to pan 360 degrees around the airport, hitting the key stroke again (in my case a button) will return you to the user aircraft position.

Enjoy and happy flying.

Ray.
