AFCAD File For PHKO

Kona International at Keahole (PHKO) receives a practical AFCAD refresh for the FSX default airport, built in Airport Design Editor with updated taxiways, signage, and support vehicle roads. It also adds extra assigned parking, helipads, fuel trucks, and improved tower-view sightlines, and requires Acceleration to display parking-lot cars.

There are 2 BGL files: PHKO_ADE_RS.BGL and a PHKO_ADE_OBJ.BGL file.

To Install:

  1. 1. Take the PHKO_ADE_RS.BGL file and place this file into: Flight Simulator X/Addon Scenery/scenery folder.
  2. 2. Take the PHKO_ADE_OBJ.BGL file and place this file into: Flight Simulator X/Scenery/Global/scenery folder.
  3. 3. Start up the Flight Sim and the changes will be present.

Only those that have Acceleration installed will see the cars in the carpark on different density settings.

  • IMPORTANT NOTE: PLEASE ONLY USE THESE BGL FILES. Make sure there is only ONE PHKO.BGL FILE in the Addon Scenery/scenery folder at any time, remove/delete any other PHKO.bgl to avoid incorrect parking and other airport conflicts.
  • If you have any AI Traffic Addons please make sure they have "NOT" installed another AFCAD for this airport as this will also cause a conflict.

Uninstall:

  1. Delete/remove the BGL files and the default airport will then be active.

Enjoy and happy flying.

Ray

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D AFCAD file
  1. Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
  2. Place AFCAD file

AFCAD files (AF2_*.bgl or AFX_*.bgl) go into FSX\Addon Scenery\Scenery\ or a dedicated AFCAD folder you create.
  3. Always read the included readme

Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.

I have installed scenery and it works great except ONE thing. Tower Comm is silent. When I ask kona tower for taxi ifr, there is NO communication back to me, it's silent then shows for me to acknowledge the order what runway. I the have to hit progressive taxi line to see where I'm going. No comm & no dialog in atc window from KONA TOWER frequency . I even adjusted tower freq to most current kona airport comms and nothing. Kona has a ground freq now so installed that and tower on 118.60 freq and still silent tower ??? Help
