FS2004 ANA Boeing 747-400D

All Nippon Airways Boeing 747-400D “Marine Jumbo” repaint brings JA8963’s 1993 whale-themed scheme to life on the AI Aardvark 744D model, built for convincing gate and approach visuals in FS2004. Optimized levels of detail keep traffic smooth while preserving the classic winglet-free silhouette and crisp airline markings.

Here you'll find a repaint of AIA Boeing 744D (i.e.without winglets) in All Nippon Airways (ANA) "Marine Jumbo" special livery. JA8963 was wearing this beautiful livery back in 1993 (Wow! can you believe it was the last century!!). It's nice to see a flying whale (!) but wish they stop killing them before they're gone forever.

INSTALLATION: Just drop the "aia_747_400_d_ge_ana_marine" folder into your FS2k/4k aircraft folder. Then assign the aircraft to some flightplans (using Lee Swordy's great Ttools for example) and you're on your way.

If you're not sure how to assign an aircraft to a flightplan, please visit our website and look in the FAQ/ Help section.

FS2002: By default the fde for this aircraft is for use in fs2004/fs9. If you are using it in FS2002, replace the "aia_747_400_ge.air" & "aircraft.cfg" with the one contained in the "fs2002fde" folder.

NOTES: This aircraft was designed specifically for use as an AI aircraft. As such, the primary design criteria were that it look good sitting at the gate, or as seen when landing from an aircraft waiting to take off.

This plane also uses 16 different LOD (levels of detail) models, which means that as the plane gets visually smaller, the model displayed becomes simpler and simpler, thus reducing the drag on your computer.

If you download a GMAX aircraft that is just gorgeous, but really chews up your frame rates when used as AI if several of them appear on the screen at once, the designer probably did not use the LOD feature, so the model is always 20,000 polygons no matter how far away from you it is.
