FSX Hetzleser Berg Airfield Scenery

Hetzleser Berg Airfield (EDQX) places a charming hilltop strip north of Nuremberg amid dense woodland, tailored for soaring clubs yet welcoming aircraft up to 2,000 kg MTOW, with detailed glider objects and a rotating windsock. Designed for FSX, it aligns closely with the Erlangen VOR and requires 1 m mesh resolution for best terrain shaping.

Hetzleser Berg Airfield (EDQX), Germany. Located north of Nuernberg Airport on a hilltop, you will find this lovely airfield surrounded by woods. The airfield is hosted by soaring clubs, however there are all kinds of aircraft, up to 2000 KG MTOW. By Andreas Jennerwein.

It is easy to find when you track the VOR Erlangen 114.90 MHz. Its position is just 1 NM away from the center of the VOR.

Copy the enclosed folders and its content in the FSX-main-folder and confirm "overwriting" when prompted. Then add the scenery to the FSX-scenery-library. Aerosoft customers should find "AFD" folder an delete the file "AF2_EDQX"

For a correct running scenery, please change your "mesh-resolution"-settings up to 1m.

If you get a weird looking terrain in front of the fuel station, please copy the "patch"-content in the EDQX-Scenery-folder.

The scenery includes beautiful Glider Objects of Wolfgang Piper and the rotating Windsock from FSDevelopers. Thank you for this!

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D scenery

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

  2. Place scenery in Addon Scenery

    Create a folder under FSX\Addon Scenery\ containing scenery and texture sub-folders.

  3. Activate in Scenery Library

    In FSX, go to Settings → Scenery Library → Add Area. Higher priority means it overrides lower entries for the same location.

  4. Always read the included readme

    Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.

    Great scenery! definitely recommend getting. There are some nice thermals in the area.
