This repaint package features a distinctive livery created by Bob Azzaro, refined with authorization by Rory Thomson exclusively for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004. It replicates the iconic Douglas C-124 Globemaster II—an extensive heavy-cargo airlifter popular for its high-volume hauling capabilities in the early 1950s. This texture set, labeled “Truus-K9,” is compatible with the freeware JBK Douglas C124 base model and requires that you download and install the original JBK aircraft beforehand. This modification adds a faithful depiction of the USAF Strategic Air Command scheme used around 1952, bringing immersive visuals to cross-country and transoceanic cargo sectors.
Enhanced Visuals and Aircraft Background
The Douglas C-124 Globemaster II was a widely recognized heavy-lift transport constructed by the Douglas Aircraft Company. Nicknamed “Old Shaky,” it served as a dependable solution for hauling massive payloads—ranging from large vehicles to strategic military cargo—across long distances. In this updated livery, the textured surfaces showcase the detailed panel lines, weathering effects, and period-correct insignia tailored to reflect Truus-K9 authenticity. These enhancements help virtual pilots appreciate the intricate design while maneuvering in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004.

Important Note on the Base Model
This repaint is solely a texture package for the freeware JBK Douglas C124. You must obtain the complete aircraft separately within the Fly Away Simulation library. Once that model is installed, these textures will activate the custom Truus-K9 visual theme, offering an authentic experience representative of the aircraft’s role in strategic airlift operations. Enjoy navigating air corridors while transporting large-load cargo across global routes with this updated paint scheme from Bob Azzaro and Rory Thomson.
