FSX AFCAD File For YPPH

Perth International Airport (YPPH) gets a detailed AFCAD refresh for the default FSX scenery, offering optional crosswind runway operations alongside standard flows. Updated parking with A380-capable gates, the new Terminal 2, revised taxiways, signs and support roads, a lighted helipad, and rebuilt apron layout improve AI traffic and tower-view realism; requires Acceleration for some lighting and vehicles.

Perth International Airport, Western Australia. This airport update is for YPPH with two optional files made only for the FSX default airport: one version with the Crosswind runway activated and in full operation where both runways will be used for takeoff/landing and one version as the default runway operation: assigned parking now updated as per their website including gates for the A380, the new domestic terminal 2 added, the old fire station and control tower demolished to make way for the new apron, taxiways and taxi signs updated to the latest charts, lighted helipad, support vehicle roads rebuilt and many other improvements, airport views are from inside the control tower (when in tower view). There are 4 BGL files: YPPH_RS.BGL, YPPH_CW_RS.BGL, YPPH_CVX.bgl and a YPPH_OBJ.BGL file.

Runway Operation Files: The YPPH_CW_RS.BGL file is with the crosswind runway activated where both runways will be used simultaneously. The YPPH_RS.BGL file is the same as the default runway operation. Assigned parking is the same in both files.

Installation:

If you are using my earlier version please remove/delete these files first, if you would rather keep them remove them to another folder not associated with FSX.

  • Take the runway operation file of your choice (only one) and the YPPH_CVX.bgl and place both of these files into: Flight Simulator X/Addon Scenery/scenery folder
  • Take the YPPH_OBJ.BGL file and place this file into: Flight Simulator X/Scenery/Global/scenery folder.
  • There are jetway extensions added, and to see these you need to add the textures for them, please follow these steps:
  • NOTE: If you have already done this with any of my other airports then this step is not necessary.
Browse to the FSX\Scenery\NAME\texture folder, go down the list until you see jfk_jetway.dds (day texture) and jfk_jetway_LM.dds (night texture). "COPY" them from that folder and "PASTE" them into the Scenery\Global\Texture folder.
  • Start up the Flight Sim and the changes will be present.

Please only use one runway operation file at a time. I.E. Make sure there is only "ONE" of the runway operation files and the YPPH_CVX.BGL file are in the Addon Scenery/scenery folder at any time, remove/delete any other YPPH.bgl to avoid incorrect parking and other airport conflicts.

If you have any AI Traffic Addons please make sure they have "NOT" installed another Afcad for this airport as this will also cause a conflict.

When using ATIS with the YPPH_CW_RS.BGL file you will hear the fake runways as well as the airport runways, this is the method used in activating non parallel runways and should be ignored or if preferred use the version YPPH_RS.BGL.

Only those with Acceleration installed will see the flood lights at Terminal 2 and vehicles in the car parks.

Uninstall:

  • Delete/remove the BGL files and the default airport will then be active.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D AFCAD file
  1. Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
  2. Place AFCAD file

AFCAD files (AF2_*.bgl or AFX_*.bgl) go into FSX\Addon Scenery\Scenery\ or a dedicated AFCAD folder you create.
  3. Always read the included readme

Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
