FSX AFCAD File For EGKK

Gatwick Airport EGKK gets a detailed AFCAD refresh for the default Microsoft Flight Simulator X scenery, updating North Terminal layouts, assigned parking, taxiways and signage to current charts. It also converts runway 08L/26R into a taxiway, rebuilds service roads, adds fuel and ground vehicles, extends jetways, and improves tower-view perspectives.

If you are using my earlier version please remove/delete these files first, if you would rather keep them remove them to another folder not associated with FSX.

  • Take the EGKK_RS.BGL and the EGKK_CVX.bgl and place both of these files into: Flight Simulator X/Addon Scenery/scenery folder.
  • Take the EGKK_OBJ.BGL and place this file into: Flight Simulator X/Scenery/Global/scenery folder.

There are jetway extensions added, and to see these you need to add the textures for them, please follow these steps:

  • NOTE: If you have already done this with any of my other airports then this step is not necessary.
  • Browse to the FSX\Scenery\NAME\Texture folder, Go down the list until you see jfk_jetway.dds (day texture) and jfk_jetway_LM.dds (night texture).
  • "COPY" them from that folder and "PASTE" them into the Scenery\Global\Texture folder.
  • Start up the Flight Sim and the changes will be present.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D AFCAD file
  1. Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
  2. Place AFCAD file

AFCAD files (AF2_*.bgl or AFX_*.bgl) go into FSX\Addon Scenery\Scenery\ or a dedicated AFCAD folder you create.
  3. Always read the included readme

Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.

When I downloaded it and tried to land with ILS, the ATC never said fly straight in or cleared to land when I was on approach. I even tuned in in my cockpit. I didn't have this problem before downloading this, Other than that the design and layout is really cool.
