Star Airways’ retro livery brings a period-correct look to the Boeing 727-200, matching the tri-jet’s classic tri-tail silhouette and JT8D-powered era with crisp airline colors and detailed exterior textures. Built for Microsoft Flight Simulator X, it requires the payware Captain Sim 727-200 for full integration with the aircraft and virtual cockpit.

A trijet airliner with a red and white Star Airways livery is taxiing on a paved airport surface near trees and buildings.

This classic airliner was heavily produced into the 1970s. The last B727 was completed in 1984. It has three Pratt and Whitney JT8D engines with a tri-tail. You must own the payware Captain Sim B727-200. Special thanks to Kevin Keegan for the repaint work. Color design by J. D. Starseed.

Installation:

Un- zip file to your desk top.
Copy the texture folder [texture.STR] into your Aircraft Folder you are adding livery to:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes\CS_B727-200

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D Repaint for Payware Model

Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
Add livery to base aircraft folder

Place the texture folder (typically texture.{airline}) inside FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\{base-aircraft}\.
Update aircraft.cfg

Open the base aircraft.cfg in Notepad. Add a new [fltsim.X] section per the readme.
