This repaint set offers a realistic Donavia Boeing 737-500 livery pack, covering the airline’s 2012 fleet. It requires the freeware FAIB B737-500 model created by Erez Werber. These texture files were meticulously produced by Philippe Tabatchnik to deliver accurate designs that match Donavia’s real-world markings. Users can integrate this repaint into Flight Simulator X by referencing the base package from the Fly Away Simulation library. This mod is entirely freeware and does not include the original model.

Overview of Donavia and Its 737-500

Donavia, historically linked with broader regional routes, operated a fleet of narrow-body Boeings designed for flexible flight profiles. The 737-500 variant belongs to the Classic series, known for efficient short-to-medium haul operations. This repaint aims to mirror the airline’s exterior details as seen in the early 2010s, ensuring flights look the part when departing or arriving at virtual terminals.

Texture Integration

This add-on pack contains textures only. To complete the installation, you must have the FAIB B737-500 base model installed on your system. The add-on’s creators, Erez Werber and Philippe Tabatchnik, have provided the necessary files, but remember to obtain the required model, named FAIB_B7375.ZIP, from the Fly Away Simulation library if you have not done so already.

Installation Steps

  1. Copy the “texture.donavia xxx” folder into the designated FAIB B737-500 base model directory. The correct folder location will align with the existing model setup.
  2. Open the aircraft.cfg file included with the base model. Insert the [fltsim.x] entries from this repaint package into that configuration. Continue the numbering sequence properly, which usually starts with [fltsim.0] and increases incrementally for each new livery.
  3. Once entered, verify you have not duplicated or skipped any numbers in the [fltsim] sections. Save your changes and close the file.
  4. Assign the updated Donavia 737-500 to any relevant flight plans in FSX. Doing so ensures that the repaint will appear correctly during AI operations or when you select it for your own flights.

Technical Notes

All visual details are optimized for AI and user-focused flight environments, reflecting Donavia’s final schemes for their Boeing 737-500 fleet around 2012. The original paintwork by Erez Werber forms the base, while the fine-tuned textures by Philippe Tabatchnik align the visual layout with authentic airline markings. Make sure you have any service packs or updates installed for FSX to avoid compatibility issues with these textures. With everything correctly set, your Donavia flights should display accurately alongside other traffic in the virtual skies.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D aircraft
  1. Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
  2. Copy aircraft files into SimObjects

Place the aircraft folder inside FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\. The folder must contain an aircraft.cfg file. Effects go into FSX\Effects\; gauges go into FSX\Gauges\.
  3. Verify in FSX

Launch FSX, go to Free Flight → Select Aircraft and find your new aircraft under its manufacturer.
  4. Always read the included readme

Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
