Flight Simulator X Prepar3D

Alpha Simulation freeware B52 Stratofortress originally designed for FS2004 has been reworked for FSX. Includes a a new air file, sound tied to the Lear 45, some camera views, tuned flight configuration and added heat effects. By David Robles. Original by Alphasim.

Installation:

After opening this zip file you will notice 3 separate sub-folders 1st is the SimObjects folder open in the you will find a folder named airplanes open that folder, copy and paste the folders named 'ALPHA B-52G Stratofortress and ALPHA B-52H Stratofortress' into your FSX airplane folder the default path is 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes'

Next open the Effects folder copy the 3 files inside paste into the main Effects folder of FSX. It default path should be, 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Effects'

Finally open the folder named Gauges copy all the contents inside and paste into the main FSX Gauge folder its default path should be, 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Gauges'

Now if anyones item is used that I did not give credit for, I am truly sorry I did not mean to use something without notification. Everything used is a freeware item.

Finally after all the pieces are in place lets go fly!!!

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D aircraft

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

  2. Copy aircraft files into SimObjects

    Place the aircraft folder inside FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\. The folder must contain an aircraft.cfg file. Effects go into FSX\Effects\; gauges go into FSX\Gauges\.

  3. Verify in FSX

    Launch FSX, go to Free Flight → Select Aircraft and find your new aircraft under its manufacturer.

  4. Always read the included readme

    Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.

A very easy install - well explained. Overall one of the nicer aircraft to fly. Good response to inputs but missing (or I couldn't find it) a preflight altitude set. Just test flew it locally and landed so I never checked out the autopilot that well.

    Hi, I have downloaded the B52 plane. The problem is that the instrument panel is empty. Do you have any suggestions?

    If you are having problems with an ILS landing and the plane climbs instead of descending, try changing the max pitch in the AP files to 10 degrees from 3 degrees - worked for me.

    No problem except that my standard commands which are programmed in my Saitek X 45 joystick are not working like for flaps and gear and others. I have a certain programmed so-called profile for every airplane. Programming is based on keyboard commands but in my case, I did not use the original keyboard commands of FSX because I have changed them. In case some users have problems with the graphic just reduce some of them in the graphic options in FSX.

    Just downloaded it. I do really like the way it lifts off a runway in a nose-down attitude. Trying to figure out the autopilot. I hope to try and recreate some of the oil burners runs the RL aircraft flew.

    It’s laggy, and there is a hole in the cockpit (with gaps). Please fix.

    I followed the install instructions and models appear nice looking but my frame rate is reduced and I get jaggy unsmooth flights. My other airplanes fly fine. Does anyone know a fix for this?

    Badass plane probably the best detailed out of the b52's on here. Matter of fact its soo well detailed that its causing my fsx to freeze/glitch then unfreeze lol. Time to update my graphics card and stuff.
