The Boeing 777-200LR variant was developed for ultra-long-haul operations, and Air Canada has employed this advanced wide-body for various intercontinental routes. In this freeware release, the project creators have preserved all core details intended by the original designer without sacrificing performance or fidelity.

Enhanced Model for FSX

The base aircraft, which was initially intended for older flight simulators, has been tweaked to ensure smoother flight behavior in FSX. The original MELJET model by Melvin Rafi is given a new life by David Grindele through the careful calibration of .air and .cfg files. These adjustments provide more authentic handling and improved responsiveness throughout every phase of flight. Additionally, the engine cowlings feature visible maintenance access, which you can activate by pressing Shift+E.

They replace the original shockwave lighting files to create a more immersive cockpit environment and external aircraft appearance.

Installation Steps

1. Extract and place the included “Aircraft” folder into your main “SimObjects/Airplanes” directory within FSX.
2. Start FSX, then select MELJET from the menu. Choose the desired Air Canada Boeing 777-200LR variation.
3. If you wish to enable the advanced lighting effects, install the A2A 3D Lights & Redux program, then copy the new effect files into your main FSX Effects folder.

Back up any original files before overwriting, in case you prefer reverting the lighting to its previous settings.
