FSX EGCW Welshpool Airport Scenery

EGCW Welshpool Airport scenery brings a more authentic Mid Wales airfield to Microsoft Flight Simulator X, tuned to sit naturally on high-resolution photo terrain with refined topography, updated airport layout, custom buildings, and optional tree placement. It requires Horizon GenX photo scenery and GenX mesh, plus Runway12 and UK VFR object libraries for full detail.

This version of Welshpool airfield was created to better reflect the topography within Microsoft FSX when using high resolution photo scenery and mesh.

It may not be compatible with UK2000 scenery. You should disable the EGCW-UK2000 flatten before installing this version. You may get strange results if you don't!

Required Scenery:

Horizon GenX Photo scenery volumes 1 together with GenX Mesh. These files may also work with VFR Real Scenery, however, this has not been tested and may give odd results. It will not function with FS9.

Recommended complementary scenery, (download separately): -

In order to use the included "scenery" .bgl(s) you should have installed: -
Scenery/Object Files from the Runway12 library and the UK add-on scenery library.

HOW TO INSTALL:

Expand these into a temporary directory them move them into your :\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Filight Simulator X\Addon Scenery\Scenery.

To remove this scenery just delete the files as listed. DO NOT delete the Scenery directory as this is integral to the working of Flight simulator X.

3. EGCWtrees.bgl (optional file to place trees around the airport)
4. EGCWbuildingsbgl (airport buildings to replace defaults after exclude)

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D scenery

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

  2. Place scenery in Addon Scenery

    Create a folder under FSX\Addon Scenery\ containing scenery and texture sub-folders.

  3. Activate in Scenery Library

    In FSX, go to Settings → Scenery Library → Add Area. Higher priority means it overrides lower entries for the same location.

  4. Always read the included readme

    Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.

Launch FSX or Prepar3D and use Flights → Load to open the downloaded .pln file. Your aircraft will be positioned at this location.
