FSX Welshpool Airfield Scenery

Welshpool Airfield (EGCW), also known as Mid Wales Airport, brings a faithful rendition of the Powys, Wales aerodrome to FSX, with taxiways and building placements based on Google Earth. The scenery captures the real-world character of this daytime CAA-licensed field and its role as a base for the Mid Wales Air Ambulance.

Welshpool Airfield Scenery.

Welshpool Airport (EGCW) (also known as Mid Wales Airport) is located 2 nautical miles (3.7 km) south west of Welshpool, Powys, Wales.

Welshpool Aerodrome has a CAA Ordinary Licence (Number P865) that allows flights for the public transport of passengers or for flying instruction as authorised by the licensee (Mid Wales Airport Limited). The aerodrome is not licensed for night use.

Welshpool airport is also used as a base by the Mid Wales Air Ambulance.

Some of the well known people who have flown in to this airport include Harrison Ford, Calista Flockhart, Richard Branson and Lembit Opik (who has his own pilots license).

The airport is always open to the public with pleasure flights and flying lessons available.

All taxi ways and building possitions are taken from Google Earth.

1. Just place the two files into the Addon Scenery folder, within the Scenery folder.

2. Navigate to your flightsim Scenery folder eg.

C:\FSX\scenery\0501\scenery\

Rename the APX47130.bgl file to APX47130_bgl_original

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D scenery

Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
Place scenery in Addon Scenery

Create a folder under FSX\Addon Scenery\ containing scenery and texture sub-folders.
Activate in Scenery Library

In FSX, go to Settings → Scenery Library → Add Area. Higher priority means it overrides lower entries for the same location.
