FSX Iguassu Falls Scenery

Iguassu Falls - Save The Planet. The Iguassu Falls, Itaipu Hydroelectric Power Plant, Foz do Iguassu City and land class package for FSX. By Cicero Costa.

Save The Planet is my version of the Iguassu Falls, Itaipu Dam, bridges and landclass scenery for FSX. Differently from my other version for MSFS 2004, i must to create a mesh of 5 meter resolution for Iguassu Falls area to give me some ideia how i could to proceed. So, i decided to use on this addon an image background avaliable at server (VirtualEarthSatellite). Thanks Microsoft.

Portuguese: Cataratas do Iguaçu. Spanish: Cataratas del Iguazu are waterfalls of the Iguaçu River located on the border of the Brazilian state of Parana (in the Southern Region) and the Argentinian Province of Misiones. The Falls are shared between the Iguazu National Park (Argentina) and Iguacu National Park (Brazil). The parks were designated UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The Itaipu Hydroelectric Power Plant is located in the Paraná River, in the stretch of the frontier between Brazil and Paraguay, 14 km north of the Friendship Bridge. The area of the project extends from Foz do Iguaçu, in Brazil, and Ciudad del Este, in Paraguay, in the south, up to Guaíra (Brazil) and the Guairá Falls (Paraguay), in the north.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

1 – Please set Water effects to Max: 2.x AND Mesh Resolution : 5 M in Option > Settings > Display > Scenery.

2 - Please Use meshes with SRTM LOD9 as FSX Mesh South America or others, it's a good ideia.

This addon was based in FSX_MeSA_E08.bgl file (state of Parana-Brasil -76-m resolution).

INSTALLATION !

1 - Move (or copy) the "Iguassufalls" folder into your "FSX\ ADDON SCENERY" folder then go to "settings" ... “library” ... “add”... and activate the scenery. It will be necessary to restart the simulator. This installation procedure makes it easier in case of a future removal, wich can be done by simply deleting the file.

Software Used:

1) 3DMax, for modeling the bridges: The Friendship Bridge (Brazil-Paraguay), Tancredo Neves Bridge (Brazil- Argentina), and Itaipu Hydroelectric Power Plant.

2) SBuilderX - Photoreal, landclass of a great area (Brazil-Argentina-Paraguay), roads, streams, lakes.

Obviously, any digital data would be worthless for FS enthusiasts without the wonderful free software tools to put them into Flight Simulator. We are very grateful to the authors of the software we used.
