Can you buy MSFS 2024 Premium Deluxe aircraft separately? Learn when individual purchase works, when an edition upgrade is required, and what to check.
Usually not as individual aircraft. After buying a lower Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 edition, you can obtain the bundled Premium Deluxe aircraft through an appropriate edition-upgrade package, but each aircraft is not guaranteed a separate Marketplace listing. Check the exact aircraft and package contents in the in-sim Marketplace before paying.
Can Premium Deluxe aircraft be bought one at a time?
Only when the in-sim Marketplace has a standalone listing for the complete aircraft. Inclusion in Premium Deluxe does not automatically mean Microsoft also sells that aircraft à la carte.
Check both the product description and our breakdown of which aircraft belong to each MSFS 2024 edition. A livery, enhancement pack or cockpit modification is not the base aircraft, even if its thumbnail shows the model you want.
| Marketplace option | What it provides | Does it include the aircraft? |
|---|---|---|
| Standalone full aircraft | That aircraft only | Yes, if the listing explicitly identifies it as the complete aircraft |
| Premium Deluxe edition upgrade | The edition content specified in the package | Yes, for the aircraft named in that package |
| Livery or enhancement | Changes an aircraft you already own | No |
| Third-party version of the same type | A separate developer's model | Yes, but it is not the bundled Premium Deluxe version |
Buying a standalone aircraft does not convert a Standard or Deluxe licence into Premium Deluxe. Likewise, owning Premium Deluxe for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 does not grant the aircraft introduced specifically for the 2024 Premium Deluxe edition, although compatible 2020 content may carry into MSFS 2024 separately.
How do I upgrade from Standard or Deluxe?
Buy the MSFS 2024 edition-upgrade package offered for your account if the aircraft has no standalone product listing.
- Use the correct account. Sign in with the account that owns your lower MSFS 2024 edition and open the in-sim Marketplace.
- Search for both options. Look for the exact aircraft name and the relevant Premium Deluxe upgrade package.
- Read the included-content list. Confirm that the wanted aircraft is named and that the package is for MSFS 2024 rather than MSFS 2020.
- Compare the whole package. Our comparison of the MSFS 2024 edition content helps identify what else the upgrade adds.
- Complete content synchronisation. After purchase, allow the simulator to refresh the entitlement and follow any download or content-management prompt it displays.
Use the same account and platform environment on which you intend to fly. Do not assume an edition upgrade or Marketplace entitlement will transfer between unrelated storefronts or console families.
Does the upgrade cost only the original edition difference?
Not necessarily. A post-purchase upgrade can cost more than the difference between editions at the initial checkout, and the price shown for your account may not apply an automatic credit for every earlier purchase.
- Choose a standalone listing when you want one aircraft and the Marketplace clearly sells the complete model separately.
- Choose the edition upgrade when the aircraft is bundle-only or you want several Premium Deluxe aircraft and airports.
- Buy Premium Deluxe initially when you have not purchased the simulator and already know you want its exclusive content. Our edition-buying guidance explains the upgrade trade-offs.
Why is a Premium Deluxe aircraft missing after purchase?
Most missing-aircraft cases come from an account mismatch, incomplete entitlement synchronisation, a filtered aircraft list or confusion between Free Flight ownership and Career Mode access.
- Wrong profile: verify that the active simulator account is the one used for the purchase.
- Content has not refreshed: restart the simulator, inspect the owned package and complete any content-management action offered. Do not buy it again while the first transaction is still being resolved.
- Aircraft filters are hiding it: clear manufacturer, category and favourites filters, then check the full Free Flight aircraft selector.
- The purchase was only a livery: inspect its description for a requirement to own another base aircraft.
- Career Mode is restricting it: ownership does not automatically unlock an aircraft for career use. Certifications, progression and Career compatibility still apply, as explained in our guide to buying aircraft and using them across MSFS 2024 modes.
