These downloads target FS2004/FS9. Do not install them directly into FSX, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 or Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024; those simulators use different scenery systems and airport formats.
Are AFCAD2 files complete airport scenery?
An AFCAD2 file edits airport facility data; by itself, it is not a complete visual airport. It can alter parking stands, taxi links, runway use, frequencies and AI behaviour without adding detailed terminals, terrain or ground textures.
Do not activate two AFCAD files for the same ICAO airport unless the documentation explicitly requires it. If a visual airport includes its own AFCAD, use that matched file rather than stacking another layout on top. Duplicate airport definitions commonly produce displaced AI aircraft, broken taxi routes or conflicting runway assignments.
How do I install Venezuela scenery in FS2004?
Install each package according to its included readme because visual scenery folders and loose AFCAD BGL files may use different methods. Most conventional packages are activated by adding the folder that directly contains Scenery and Texture to the FS9 Scenery Library; a simple AFCAD may instead be placed in Addon Scenery\scenery.

Why is the scenery missing or the AI traffic wrong?
If the scenery does not appear or AI behaves oddly, the cause is usually an incorrect folder level, an inactive library area, duplicate airport data or a missing dependency.
- Wrong folder selected: The active library entry should normally point to the folder immediately containing
SceneryandTexture, not an extra parent folder created during extraction. - Scenery area not activated: Confirm that the area is enabled in the FS9 Scenery Library, then restart the simulator so its scenery database can be rebuilt.
- Overlapping AFCAD files: Check the readmes and active scenery folders for more than one BGL covering the same ICAO. Filenames do not always make the duplicated airport obvious.
- Missing base scenery: An AFCAD designed around a separate airport package may load against the default airport but leave parking, taxiways and buildings visibly misaligned.
- No AI aircraft appear: AFCAD parking does not install AI aircraft or flight plans. Parking radius, stand type and airline codes must also match the traffic being used.
- Incorrect scenery priority: Place a detailed local airport above broader regional scenery, while retaining only the airport-layout file intended for that visual package.
