What KATL scenery add-ons are available for MSFS 2024?

Adam McEnroe
In short

Compare KATL scenery add-ons for MSFS 2024, including ImagineSim, FeelThere and the stock airport, with compatibility and conflict advice.

For Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, the main dedicated KATL options are ImagineSim’s KATL Atlanta and FeelThere’s Atlanta International Airport, alongside the simulator’s stock Hartsfield–Jackson rendition. Most dedicated releases began as MSFS 2020 products, so confirm explicit MSFS 2024 support and your platform before buying or installing either package.

KATL scenery options for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024

ImagineSim KATL AtlantaA payware replacement for the default airport, covering Hartsfield–Jackson’s terminals, stands and airfield.PC pilots wanting a dedicated rendition rather than the stock scenery. Some listings use general MSFS or MSFS 2020 branding; check the specific build for 2024 support.
FeelThere Atlanta International AirportAn alternative payware interpretation of KATL with replacement airport models and ground layout.Pilots comparing visual style, airport layout and performance between developers.Availability and compatibility can differ between PC, Xbox and PlayStation 5.
Default KATLThe airport supplied with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.Anyone prioritising native compatibility, lower cost and fewer scenery conflicts. It may lack the bespoke detail or airport-specific modelling found in payware.

Freeware corrections and airport enhancements can also appear, but these change more frequently and may address only one part of the airport. Search our Microsoft Flight Simulator freeware and mods library for KATL or Atlanta rather than assuming an older package remains compatible.

Do not install ImagineSim and FeelThere together. Both are intended to replace the same airport, so running them simultaneously can produce overlapping terminals, duplicated jetways, conflicting stands and broken taxiway markings.

Which KATL scenery should I choose?

Choose the package with confirmed MSFS 2024 support, an airport layout that matches the operations you fly and acceptable performance on your system.

  • For airliner operations: compare gate positions, jetway support, taxi signs, runway approaches and the arrangement of Concourses T and A–F.
  • For online flying: prioritise accurate stand numbers and taxiway designations over decorative terminal interiors.
  • For performance: consider how much terminal-interior detail is rendered. KATL is already a large, busy airport, so elaborate interiors, traffic and ground services can add substantial load.
  • For long-term use: favour a package with a clear update history and an explicit Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 compatibility statement.
  • For simplicity: retain the default airport until a payware package offers a specific improvement you need.

Marketing screenshots alone are a poor way to choose. Check which simulator generation the package targets, whether its airport layout has been updated and whether your intended purchase channel supports your platform.

Will MSFS 2020 KATL scenery work in MSFS 2024?

Many MSFS 2020 airport packages can load in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, but compatibility is not automatic or identical to native 2024 support.

An older KATL package may display correctly while still having misplaced parking positions, inactive jetways, terrain seams or lighting problems. A developer compatibility update is preferable to simply copying an old package into the MSFS 2024 Community folder.

  1. Confirm the edition: look for an explicit MSFS 2024 compatibility statement covering the exact product build.
  2. Remove competing scenery: disable every other package that edits KATL.
  3. Install through the correct channel: use the in-simulator content system for Marketplace purchases or the documented Community-folder method for PC packages.
  4. Restart the simulator: changing files while MSFS is running does not reliably unload an airport package.
  5. Test KATL alone: load a daytime flight at a gate before enabling traffic, ground-service profiles and other airport modifications.

Can KATL add-ons be installed on Xbox or PS5?

Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 can use only KATL packages distributed for those consoles through Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024’s in-simulator content system.

Console users cannot copy a third-party airport into a Community folder. A product being available on PC, or even appearing under the same developer’s name, does not guarantee an Xbox or PS5 edition. Check the platform symbols on the individual listing before purchasing; PlayStation availability must be confirmed separately.

Why does KATL show duplicate buildings or broken gates?

Duplicate buildings at KATL almost always mean that two airport packages or an incompatible enhancement are active together.

  • Keep only one complete KATL replacement enabled.
  • Disable old airport fixes made for the stock rendition; their layout files may conflict with payware.
  • Match any ground-service or gate profile to the exact scenery package and version. A profile is not airport scenery and cannot provide missing terminals.
  • Update the chosen airport, then restart MSFS 2024 and test it without unrelated Community-folder packages.

If the problem remains with only one KATL package active, it is likely a compatibility or package-order issue rather than a graphics setting.
