Kansas City Downtown/Wheeler Field has instrument procedures serving all four ends of its two intersecting runways. The mix of ILS, localiser and RNAV (GPS) procedures provides both ground-based and satellite-based approach coverage rather than concentrating access on a single alignment. Runway 01/19 is 1,777 ft longer than 04/22, a material distinction when planning operations requiring more runway. The airport diagram and hot-spot chart supplement the airborne procedures with ground-layout detail.
Kansas City International has a substantially broader procedure set, while Lee’s Summit Regional and Johnson County Executive are broadly comparable with Wheeler Field. Midwest National Air Center is somewhat thinner, and East Kansas City has only sparse published coverage. For visual flying, the Kansas City Terminal Area Chart adds detailed local context, while the sectional places the airport within the wider regional picture.
