Instrument procedures serve only three of Napa County’s six runway ends, concentrating arrivals on half of the available directions. The six approach plates combine RNAV (GPS), VOR, ILS and localiser guidance, so the set includes both satellite-based and conventional options, with precision guidance represented by the ILS.
The parallel runways differ sharply in length: the 2,510 ft strip accommodates a much narrower range of aircraft than its 5,930 ft companion, while the 5,008 ft crossing runway provides another substantial alignment. Among nearby fields, Travis AFB has the most comparable breadth of published chart coverage; San Rafael’s set is much thinner, with the others falling between. The San Francisco Sectional and Terminal Area Chart add visual-route and wider-area context not supplied by the airport’s instrument procedures.
