Approaches and runway use

New Braunfels National has published approaches to all four ends of its two runways, so instrument coverage is not confined to one alignment. GPS dominates the approach set, with a single VOR procedure providing the only non-GPS option. Standard arrivals substantially outnumber approaches, giving the chart collection a stronger emphasis on organised inbound routing than the five approach procedures alone suggest. Aircraft requiring more than 5,364 ft of runway are limited to runway 13/31, which provides 6,503 ft.

Regional chart context

San Marcos Regional has broadly comparable chart coverage, while Randolph AFB, San Antonio International and Stinson Municipal have larger collections. Lockhart Municipal is much more lightly covered. The San Antonio Sectional adds wider visual-navigation context, while the US Gulf Coast Helicopter Route Chart adds the published helicopter-routing picture absent from the terminal instrument procedures.
