Instrument coverage

Wheaton’s instrument set is tightly focused: two RNAV (GPS) approaches serve two runway ends. As the two runways provide four ends in total, published approach coverage reaches only half of the available landing directions. There is no separate airport diagram, so the set contains no dedicated ground-layout sheet. The 3,298 ft asphalt runway is 1,345 ft longer than the turf strip, making it the only option for aircraft requiring more than 1,953 ft of runway.

Regional chart context

Elbow Lake, Morris and Harry Stern each match Wheaton’s four-chart coverage, while Sisseton and Ortonville have one fewer. The Twin Cities Sectional adds broader visual and regional context beyond the approach and minimums sheets.
