Gunnison-Crested Butte Regional’s five approaches serve two runway ends and span ILS, localiser, RNAV (GPS) and VOR guidance. The ILS provides a precision option, while the remaining procedures mean the set does not depend on a single navigation method or cover only one direction.
The runway layout is markedly uneven: aircraft requiring more than 2,981 ft have only the 9,400-ft asphalt runway available, so the shorter turf-gravel strip does not provide a second alignment for them. Among nearby fields, Aspen has substantially broader procedure coverage and Montrose is also broader; Salida, Central Colorado and Lake County have thinner sets. The Denver Sectional adds the wider visual-navigation context absent from the terminal procedures.

The official FAA airport diagram for Gunnison-Crested Butte Rgnl is free to download at the top of this page. It shows runways, taxiways, ramp layout and hold-short positions, and is reissued every 28 days.
The field elevation is 7,679 ft. At that height the air is thin enough to matter: take-off and landing distances are longer than the same aircraft would need at sea level, and the effect worsens as temperature rises. The approach charts carry the altitudes that apply.
No — Gunnison-Crested Butte Rgnl has no control tower. Traffic co-ordinates on a common frequency rather than with a controller, which is listed in the frequencies table on this page.
