Hartford-Brainard’s published approaches are concentrated on a single runway end, with RNAV (GPS) and VOR procedures represented. The opposite end has no published approach, so the instrument chart set does not provide equivalent coverage in both directions. Runway 02/20, at 4,417 ft, is the clear length-dominant alignment: the paved 11/29 and turf NE/SW strips are each little more than half as long. The airport diagram also distinguishes the two helipads from the aeroplane runways.
Among nearby fields, Bradley International has by far the broadest procedure set, while Robertson Field, Meriden Markham Municipal, Windham and Chester have appreciably thinner coverage.
